To add a lock, perform the following steps:
From the sidebar, select Devices to display the device tree.
Select the Add Lock placeholder. Alternatively, select the actions menu next to Add Lock, then choose Configure.
Enter a Name for the lock. This name is used throughout the system, such as when assigning locks to spaces or when monitoring alarms.
For Device type, choose Battery Powered or Externally Powered.
Enter the Serial number found in the Lock Configuration Tool, DSR Support Tool, or on the lock.
Configure the lock modes. For more information, refer to IN Series IP-Enabled Lock Modes.
Scheduled lock mode (optional)
To assign a schedule to the lock modes, choose the Schedule from the drop-down.
Choose the Scheduled lock mode from the drop-down to specify lock mode behavior during scheduled days and times.
Choose a Default lock mode. This mode specifies how the lock behaves when it is online and communicating with the DSR when no schedule is selected or when it is off schedule.
Configure lock settings:
Enter the Unlock time. This specifies the number of seconds the door is unlocked when access is granted. Typically, this is set from 5 - 10 seconds. Unlock time can be set from 1 - 255 seconds (4.25 minutes).
Enter the Extended unlock time. This specifies the number of seconds the door is unlocked for people with Use extended access times enabled. This field is intended for people who need extra time to proceed through a doorway.
Note: IN Series IP-enabled locks locks do not support extended held times.Enter the Held open time. This specifies the number of seconds the door can be held open before an alarm is generated. Held open time can be set from 1 - 32,767 seconds (approximately 9 hours). The default value is 30 seconds.
Select Save to save the configuration. If you exit this screen after entering the lock information without saving, you will be prompted to save or discard your changes.
The DSR may need to be synchronized after adding locks.
Limitations of Battery-operated Locks (IN120)
Temporary unlock is not supported.
Lock mode override is not supported.
The lock is configured in the Lock Configuration Tool to wake up once every 24 hours and to wake up on Access Denied events.
Changes to a person's access will not take affect until the lock wakes up.
If the lock has changes, a “Sychronization: Pending” status will display for that lock.
